A frequently asked question around these parts is, what’s next for JazzMutant’s Lemur? The dedicated multi-touch hardware showed that touch could be a powerful means of interacting with music and visuals, years before “iPhone” and “iPad” became household words. But now, make no mistake about it, new, cheap hardware is moving in on the Lemur’s turf.

It never occurred to me how isolated the Lemur community is until I came across  this– which is actually rather dated as far as Lemur templates go.  For every awesome analog or free-form device to come along theres one guy out there finishing up some great Max patch to be integrated with the lemur.  It takes some digging, but as old as the Lemur is (what 5 years now?) make no mistake the Lemur is at the top of it’s class for desiging and controlling anything less complicated than several active matrixes running some Vegas casino’s security and entertainment.(yea.)
